Macumba Matata...Oldtown road Brasil remix

What a strange but good week haha. Let me tell ya.

Well we were following up with one of our investigators who is reading the Book of Mormon and praying to know if it's true but isn't receiving an answer. Weird, right? We told her it's in God's timing and we can trust he'll respond after all we can do. But did she truly do all she could do? Well last week when passing her house, I asked to use the bathroom. As I walked to the back of the house I passed a door that is ALWAYS closed but this time was open a bit. As I passed by I kinda peeped a bit and saw A MACUMBA. Aka, idols and statues that people basically worship satan here with a carpet set out and candles. The whole shindig. So...after really having to use the bathroom after seeing this, I shared a thought how we need to make our homes a home for the spirit and sometimes the answer won't come because of our surroundings that can impede receiving answers. So that was the first fun experience. Oh. and then we booked it out of the house.
Second funny and sad experience was when I try to release my inner cowboy that turns out doesn't exist. We were contacting on the street and saw this 12 year old boy trying to control this GIANT horse into a tiny field to eat...As I walked past I asked if he needed help and he just asked if I could help block off the one entrance/exit with the little rope he had. The faithful Elder Gardanier that I am took the rope, made a makeshift fence, tied it off, and then brushed off my hands as we looked at this spider web of a rope in a proudful gaze. He was thanking me for what I did but legit he was cut off by the scene of the horse walking through my little gate like it didn't exist and BOLTING off into the distance. The boy ran down to get the horse and we didn't see him again. Well, until later that day. We found him at the supermarket where I asked about his horse and he said "Oh, he ran away and we didn't find him."
     Gulp. I lost their horse.
Then he said "Oh, and meet my dad!" I looked up to see this scowling dad just scan my scrawny character. Basically I thought I was done for it. But as we got talking he said how he is a pastor of a church in the neighborhood too....yipee. Perfect situation I thought ha. ha. ha. But I just felt so sorry for my lack of cowboyness and expressed this to him and it ended in him saying "Please, stop by my house and share your message with me and my family this week." and then a big hug in the supermarket.
     Wut?
I'm still not sure what he saw in us...but I know that God is Good!!!!

I love ya all and #LIGHTmyWORLD by #LIGHTINGTHEWORLD for others. K?
