A Week of Miracles

Let me just say this email is worth the read. This was my miracle week. I can say that sacrifice does bring forth the blessings AND powers of heaven. Because the powers of heaven are operated based off of righteousness. Here we go. Miracles of the week:
1. The first day of trying to be more consecrated missionaries, we met a 9 year old kid named Henzo. He actually ran into us and started asking questions that even the Catholic priests were stumped by like, "Why does the Catholic church worship a false image of Christ on the cross if it´s against the commandments AND Christ is resurrected too?" We smiled as we answered his lifelong question and continued with the restoration.
We returned the next day and he said "I prayed about this book after reading yesterday and today. I know it to be true. I’ll ask my dad, but I wanna serve a mission for your church." Literally the blessings were being poured out. He knows the Bible and basically everything it contains. He is the perfect example to me of not being limited due to age. I think he is more spiritually advanced than I am and may ever be. A literal blessing from Heaven he is.
But sadly, after marking another visit to visit him and his dad, his dad recognized it was us, hid, and lied to us that he was taking a shower. Henzo then said while talking with his dad, he said "You better stop taking discussions with them and never talk to them and don ́t go to their church or else I'll punish you."
As much I want to fight the dad, I know we have to respect our parents and Henzo knows this too. So here is to a few more years until he is 18 and can choose for himself!
2. We went to Wesley ́s house (investigator) to follow-up with him. He wasn't there but his mom was. We asked for some water and stepped out onto the sidewalk where it was shadier. As we were talking, there was a slight gust of wind and the door to her house slammed shut. She started to freak out because she left the keys in the locked door, there was no one left inside, and her family was far from home. She started pacing and worrying and just freaked out. I just walked over to the door and the biggest miracle happened, I just pushed it slightly and it opened with no restraint. She stopped and just stared at what happened. I said "Sometimes, we just have to show faith. What do you think about visiting our church this Sunday?" I think she was still too freaked out and just slowly walked in with her mouth opened. Sadly, she didn't go to church. But next week let's see!
3. Our recent convert, Clausner, had some pretty exciting news. His problem before baptism was drinking coffee, but now he has stopped and he received some exciting news. He has had bad blood pressure for a long time now and his doctor literally didn’t know what the problem was. They have done a bunch of exams and tests and pills. Lots of pills. But after giving up coffee, his blood pressure has returned to normal. Without pills. Without medication. What a miracle already. Testimony of the Word of Wisdom.
4. After telling us this story, we then turned to Eduarda (his wife) wondering if she has any other news ;);) Well she then told us the story...she loves the church. Loves the members. But hasn't prayed to know if the church is true and doesn't have a testimony of the Book of Mormon.
Well Saturday morning, she finally carved out the time to say a sincere prayer. She prayed to know if this church was true and was the sincerest she has ever been. But after the prayer, she felt nothing. She continued on with the day by going to this pool party with the ward. While on the bus, she has this bible app that sends a bible verse every day. What a miracle because on Saturday she received the verse Malachi 3:1Behold, I will asend my bmessenger, and he shall prepare the way before me: and the Lord, whom ye seek, shall suddenly ccome to his dtemple, even the emessenger of the covenant, whom ye delight in: behold, he shall come, saith the Lord of hosts.
She explained how since the first day, she has always viewed us as angels. AND we are always talking about the temple too that she knew that this was a direct answer from God.
We then continued, since you received an answer, what will you do to continue this path? She hesitantly responded "baptism..." and then pulling my emotional card, I said that I'll probably be transferred here next week and really wanna see her baptism...well let me tell you she will be baptized January 18th!

Well congratulations if you made it this far in the email!! It's obvious to me that the Lord is at the head of this work if we obey the commandments. Nephi is a big advocate on obedience and if we do, we’ll "prosper in the land."

Love you all! Keep STUDYING the Book of Mormon.
Elder Gardanier

Daniel had to explain a couple of the pictures he sent this week. Yes, one is with a gun, an airsoft gun. However, the real story is when he was tracting and found Clausner, he didn’t believe they were real missionaries, so Clausner had a real gun. After giving them water, and while still holding a full pitcher, Clausner said he needed to get more water. That was an excuse to go put the gun away.

The fruit Daniel is trying is called jaca.

The pom pom ears are, “probably my best moment in life.”
