is starting to warm up and is getting hot and sticky...BUT that means I needed
more Chapstick.
It was me and the Venezuelan Elder again at a pharmacy to buy
some Chapstick. I asked the ladies and they did all this price matching and
research to get the best for the best price. I contemplated and then bought
it...fast forward 10.486 seconds after I left the store. I opened the package
and the Chapstick inside was LIPSTICK CHAPSTICK. Elder Marquez tried getting me
to put it on but there was no way I was gonna wear that on a daily.
I hurried back to the pharmacy
to return it but sadly they wouldn’t take it back because the plastic was
opened. Soo...to turn lemons into lemonade me and the other American elder
chose to go out with a band and bring me (Elder No Lips) to Elder with Kylie
Jenner lips BABANG.
Moral of the story, don´t try to buy
chaptstick in Brazil when you can’t speak Portuguese and read too the package
that says "WITH COLOR". RIP.
Although this past week was hard, I’m
loving the moments of being a missionary. We had a lesson with Ana Paula who is
a big time drinker. But this time we caught her sober....We gave the
lesson of the Plan of Salvation and she mentioned how she drinks to escape her
problems but in the morning, they are always still there. (GOOD LESSON
everybody). As my companion rattled off in Portuguese for 20 mins after
explaining every aspect of the gospel I finally stopped him and said,
"What do you feel in your heart Ana Paula?" She responded with
"Peace and calmness." I then responded in a short sentence "God
is trying to show he loves you. YOU are a daughter of God." Her eyes
filled with tears and she couldn´t stop for the remainder of the lesson. What a
testimony to me of God´s real and tangible love. Like most earthly fathers,
they. love. you. There is power in knowing we are God´s children. No wonder why
that was the first thing Satan tried to distort when talking to Moses face to
face. NEVER lose your identity as a child of God.
